Pin-up Girls, Vintage Vehicles and Bi-Planes

It's no secret to those who know me best - I love the 1940's and early 50's.  The cars, the fashion, the hair and make-up, the music...  That should have been my era!  One of the new sessions I have been planning to offer is the pin-up girl session.  Who wouldn't want their hair and make-up professionally done and to be photographed as a pin-up?  Before officially offering this session, I felt I needed some good marketing shots and examples of my work...hence my shoot yesterday in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

Can you tell I was in absolute heaven?

Thank you to the beautiful models who tirelessly worked with me to create the shots I envisioned.  You were all stunning!

If you would like to be transformed into a pin-up girl, please contact me at jenniferleighphotos@yahoo.com.  Images from this vintage-style shoot would make an excellent gift for someone special for their birthday or holiday...and would also be the perfect glamorous treat for yourself!

Soaring Solo

I found out Friday that I was not chosen for this year's SOAR photography scholarship.  I allowed myself to feel sad for about a half hour and then wasted no time stepping back into the game!  This year is going to be about new experiences, about pushing myself to learn as much as humanly possible about my passion and exceeding the business goals I have set for myself.

And speaking of new experiences...  Next weekend, I'm ridiculously excited about a photography opportunity that will have me soaring in a variety of ways with some new friends.  Here's a little hint about one of my subjects...

Stay tuned next weekend for some spectacular images!

Catherine & Joey {Wedding}

Catherine and I met for dinner a few months ago to discuss her upcoming wedding.  It seems like I blinked, and the big day was already here!

Catherine, Joey and their families planned a beautiful wedding on Saint Simons Island.  The wedding was held at Epworth by the Sea's historic Lovely Lane Chapel, with a reception following at the elaborate King and Prince Resort.  It was a gorgeous, blue-skied day filled with a lot of fun and laughter, and I was very honored to play such an important role in it all.  A big thank you to my assistant photographer / graphic arts designer, Brittany, whose help on the big day was indispensable!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Kipp - may you two have many happy years together filled with laughter and love!

The Railroad

I've always been fascinated with railroads...not the trains so much, but the tracks.  I'm not sure why.  I think it may have to do with enjoying the work of the journey as opposed to riding easy through life.  I like to get my hands dirty and work a little.  I like to feel like I'm in control, like I am accomplishing something on my own.  Don't get me wrong, I do need help from time to time, and I'm not afraid to ask for it or ashamed that I have to ask for it.  Show me how to do something but then stand back - I'm jumping in and giving it my all and taking it the extra mile.

To continue to celebrate the journey (from my last blog entry), here are a few more railroad images.  Embrace whatever journey you are on, don't forget to ask for help, and give it your all.  That's what makes life worth living and doing.

And Away We Go!

2011...  It may be a new year, but I feel I'm on relatively the same journey as last year...after all, 2010 was just a few days ago.  Much on my list to accomplish this year - several old goals I'm working on achieving, some new - and I'm hitting the road running.  (Literally, actually...started running on the Sidney Lanier Bridge!)

Best of luck to each and every one of you as you begin your journey into 2011.  Whether you are starting anew or continuing to blaze your trail, it's going to be a fantastic year - I can just feel it!
