Janis & Jimmy {Saint Simons Island wedding photographer}

As a photographer, when you meet a couple who share an extra special connection, you know it right away.  I met Janis a few years ago and loved her immediately, but Jimmy had been living in Oklahoma until earlier in the year.  Once he had finally been able to move to the area, they scheduled an engagement session with me.  And I tell you...when they arrived and had barely stepped out of their car, I could already tell that this couple was a match made in heaven. They are fantastic people in their own regard, but together?  It's the stuff dreams are made of.

Their wedding was held on a beautiful spring day on Saint Simons Island.  While they were preparing for the ceremony, Janis and Jimmy were so relaxed and at ease.  But when we arrived at the beautiful Lovely Lane Chapel, you could feel their excitement and anticipation building for the moment they've dreamed about for so long.  Jimmy was handsome as ever, and wearing a tux with tails!  Janis looked stunning.  I love a bride who wears her veil over her face until the moment of the big kiss!

The ceremony was beautiful and simple, but it was the love and energy of all that were present that made it extra-special.  When they finally were announced as husband and wife, Jimmy lifted Janis' veil to see clearly his new bride.  And that kiss?  I got goosebumps!

After the ceremony, I wisked the newlyweds off for a few quiet moments, and then it was time to ride to the reception in style!  From the time they stepped out of the vintage limo, the celebration was in full swing.  Janis & Jimmy shared a very touching first dance that rolled right into a dance party without missing a beat!  These two have got some moves!  Everyone was quick to join them on the floor, and they barely wanted to take a break for dinner!

From start to finish, it was a very special day and a fantastic beginning to this new chapter of Janis & Jimmy's life together.  It was my honor to play a very special role in their wedding day, and capture the moments they will cherish for a lifetime.  Janis & Jimmy, I wish you a life filled with happiness, love and many blessings!  Two incredible people deserve only the very, very best.

Ohmygosh!  I'm a bride!

Ayanna & Hugh: The Reception {Saint Simons wedding photographer}

Immediately following the ceremony in Neptune Park (click HERE to view those images), the wedding day festivities continued outside the Casino Theater.  Since their family and friends were also traveling from all over the country to witness the union of these love birds, it's no wonder Ayanna & Hugh chose their reception to have a vintage travel theme!  I loved all the little details - from the paper airplane escort cards, to the map-covered flower vases, to the homemade pear berry jam wedding favors ("Berry" just so happens to be the groom's last name)...this reception had paradise written all over it!

But what really made this reception so special - this whole day - were the family and friends who attended.  The first dance family-style, was so precious with Ayanna & Hugh's son leading the moves.  And speaking of dance moves, check out the mother of the bride getting her groove on the dance floor!  And that father-daughter dance?  Incredibly heartwarming.  These images show just how special Ayanna's bond with her father truly is.  Each and every moment of this wedding day was a memory worth capturing with my lens.

Congratulations, again, Ayanna & Hugh, on your marriage!  It was my honor to have been such a special part of your day.  Warmest wishes for a beautiful future!

A big thank you to all the fabulous vendors who made this special day possible...from start to finish!
