You Capture - "Green"

This week for You Capture's photo challenge, we were able to pick between three different topics: green, hands, and chairs.  Being short on time this week, I decided to go with "green," as the great outdoors in my town are plenty green from all these thunderstorms and rain showers we've been having.  Green is one of my favorite colors, so that helped to persuade me, as well.

This year, I took notice to these beautiful trees with their branches full of funky pink fuzzy blossoms.  Not sure what they are called or why I didn't notice them the past 2 years we've lived here, but they are an incredible sight to behold!  I love this image for its rich, contrasting color and the overall composition.

  1. This is beautiful and now I'm reminded of this challenge...so much going on this week so I know how it to be short on time.

  3. Coming back to answer a question since I don't have your email. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XSi (I have all my equipment listed under my Camera Bag on my blog).

  6. I love Mimosas in June! They and the crepe myrtles come out right after all the spring flowers are gone; I think they like the limelight all to themselves! Pretty! Pretty!

  7. I've never seen this flower before and I'm completely taken. Such a lovely picture and you've captured the delicacy of the petals (?) so well

  8. Clare - It's a whole tree! They are gorgeous, and I can't believe I just noticed their existance! (I've lived in Georgia for 2.5 years now.) Maybe it's because I have a trained photographer eye now and notice EVERYTHING in a different light. Thanks for the compliment!
