Water!

This is my first week participating in the You Capture and In A Yellow House photo challenges!  I saw the upcoming week's theme was going to be "water," which so happens to be one of my favorite things!  My whole life, I have lived next to water...on Lake Erie in Ohio, down the street from Lake Shastina in California, and now next to the Atlantic Ocean in Georgia!  I'm not sure if it's because I was born on the cusp of Pisces (that means I'm Aquarius and Pisces) but I have to be living near water in order to be happy.  I love to drink it, play in it, walk on the beach, fish, watch thunderstorms...you name it!  So it just kills me to see this awful mess of an oil spill we've got going on in the Gulf.

On a happier note, here is my water capture for the week.  I love it so much, I thought I'd enter it in both challenges.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

  8. Thanks, everyone! Glad I could be in the company of so many wonderful photographers!

@Amber...I used Lightroom 2.7 to edit this photo and used two presets: one for the color and one for the frame. I have over 600 presets, so I'll have to see if I can figure out who made them and will post it here. :)

  9. I love the water, too - grew up on the Gulf Coast, so this oil spill is killing me, too. LOVE your water capture! He looks so tempted to dive right under that waterfall.

  10. One thing I love about being married to a sailor: for atleast 20 years, we will always live on a coast somewhere! I need to live near water too. I am interested in your presets too...I am shopping around what editing software I want to invest in!

  11. Pretty Presets are wonderful - bought those and won those in a giveaway. I wouldn't buy too many presets because a lot are available online for free! (I got many of my presets from the publishers where I'm interning.)

  12. The colors are very beautiful and just looking at your capture of the little boy makes me able to almost feel what it's like standing there with my feel getting wet and feeling the spray of the fountain. I think that says it's a really good picture!
