Nicki & Sully {Akron - Canton portrait photographer}

While in Ohio, I had the pleasure of meeting up with my sister, Nicki, at the stable where her tall, dark and handsome four-legged man resides.

A little over a year ago, Sully was a race horse...but his heart just wasn't in it anymore.  After losing his last race, his owners auctioned him off at a horrible place where he could either be bought and rehabilitated...or immediately put down and discarded.  Nicki gave him his second chance at a new, different, and better life.

Nicki has single-handedly trained him to be an English-style show horse.  He handsomely prances around during his dressage trials and enjoys this new type of competition.  But where he naturally excels is jumping.  His memories of competing on the race track return as he takes to the arena with unparalleled speed and grace and greatly over-jumps every obstacle.  (And when I say over-jump, I mean by feet, not inches.)  Sully, quite simply, comes alive.

I finally had the pleasure of meeting Sully for the first time at his brand new stable.  He and my sister make quite a pair, don't you think?

Enough of this photo business...it's time to eat!

I don't know the name of Sully's stable mate, but he frequently tried to get my attention for a few shots.  I just couldn't resist.  Isn't he handsome?

  1. Omigosh...I love the last one. What a beautiful composition. They are all terrific, but that last one...wow...
