Weddings at The Ladera {St. Lucia wedding venues}

Couples looking to wed in paradise should definitely check out The Ladera - a secluded resort and spa nestled in the rainforest between the grand Piton Mountains of St. Lucia.  Elopements, weddings with guests, and vow renewals are all accommodated by The Ladera and their most gracious staff.

From the moment you make your inquiry about a ceremony at The Ladera, the resort's wedding coordinator, Samantha, is quick to reveal just how easy planning your event will be.  From a simple ceremony to a lavish event, your dream ceremony is not only possible, it will exceed your every expectation.

I recently had the honor of photographing Melissa & Dave's wedding at The Ladera.  Their ceremony was to be very intimate, as they would be wed in front of Dave's parents at the Paradise Pavilion with a 1,100 ft. vista overlooking the World Heritage Pitons and Caribbean Sea.  Samantha met with the couple shortly after their arrival and helped them to select the details of their ceremony a few days before their wedding.  And that was it - Samantha assured them she would take care of the rest.

Come wedding day, I think everyone was pleasantly surprised at just how stress-free and enjoyable the experience was.  The resort staff helped Melissa get dressed and swept her hair into an updo while Dave was getting ready in another suite.

Melissa, her mother-in-law, and I were transported to the ceremony site by golf cart.  And when we arrived, my jaw hit the ground because I simply was not prepared for all the beautiful details and little surprises Samantha and staff had prepared for Melissa and Dave.

The resort staff were wearing traditional ceremonial dress and served as witnesses.  They held flowers above Melissa's head as she walked up the stairs leading to the groom, and live steel drums music accompanied her entrance.

She walked across the terrace arranged with floral vases and flower petals to the fantastic floral arch where her groom as standing.

The officiant gave a heartfelt service - one of the most beautiful I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing.  All these accents complimented the already breathtaking open air view of the mountains and Caribbean Sea.

The ceremony was followed by the signing of the marriage certificate, a champagne toast, more beautiful steel drum music, and a double rainbow!

Immediately following, the gourmet dinner was held in a private dining room, where we were waited on hand and foot.  The wedding cake the resort staff had prepared was incredible to view and to eat!

Overall, Melissa and Dave's wedding day was pure perfection.  While the venue and its view were amazing on their own, I attribute Samantha and her staff's gold star service and attention to detail for turning this wedding day experience into a fairytale in paradise.
