Something Blue {Trendy Thursdays}

Every girl knows the wedding saying describing what the bride should have on her wedding day... "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue..."  But where did the "blue" come from?  Did a little online research (hey, it's easiest) and learned that the color blue has been incorporated into weddings for centuries!  Apparently, in ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize modesty and fidelity.  There is also the belief in Christianity that blue represents purity, as the Virgin Mary has been dressed in blue.  And here endeth the history lesson.

Blue is one of my all time favorite colors, so the idea of incorporating blue into my wedding was an easy decision...but I since my dress was ivory with a champagne colored sash and beading, I decided to skip wearing something blue and incorporated blue into my decor instead.  Just because I didn't wear something blue on my big day doesn't mean I can't have fun inspiring YOU to add a little something blue into the attire for your groom, your wedding party and you!
