Men's Black Wedding Bands {Trendy Thursdays}

Why is shopping for men's wedding rings so darn difficult?  When my husband and I went ring shopping, it seemed like all the local chain stores had the same product.  And believe me, we went to every single one.

Ultimately, my husband had to be different, and he chose a solid black wedding band with minor engraved detailing.  My first reaction?  "Black?!"  At first I thought he was nuts - doesn't a black wedding band send some kind of negative vibe? I mean, black is his color - he is a sexy devil in black.  But a black wedding band?  Soooo non-traditional...and apparently super trendy!

As it turns out, black is one of the most popular trends in men's wedding bands for 2012!  If your guy loves to wear black, incorporating black into his ring may making ring shopping a little more fun for him.  Here are some cool rings I found that might be just up his alley.

Elegant style: Beveled black carbon fiber Tungsten band - Tungsten Forever - $179 at Tungsten World

One-of-a-kind wood-grained metal rings: Edward Mirell Timoku Band - Starting at $379 at Titanium Jewelry

Sophisticated bling: Rounded palladium & black diamond ring - Contact Novell for customization options and retailers.

Less bling is sometimes more: White gold & black diamond band - Contact Benchmark for retailers.

Edgy from the land down under: White Gold & Black Rhodium Wedding Ring - Royal Duet - Starting at $1630

Looking for something truly unique and personal? How about your fingerprint stamped on the inside of his wedding band?  These bands are listed in sterling silver but are also available in gold, platinum and palladium.  Like this idea so much and want a wedding band with his fingerprint inside?  They craft women's rings, too.  Check out Brent & Jess's Etsy shop for more details and a huge variety of styles!

Confused about manly metals?  Benchmark has an awesome chart describing some of the metals they (and many other jewelers) use in rings.  Compare metals to see how durable, scratch-resistant, crack-resistant, and hypoallergenic these metals are...and more!  Click HERE to be transported.

Hope you have a fun ring shopping experience!

  2. My husband also loooooves black, and he was actually thinking about getting that carbon fiber ring that you have displayed by Tungsten Forever, but he decided to go with a solid black tungsten wedding band with a domed and polished finish (I think it's called the enigma). I must say that I'm surprised at how sleek and shiny it looks! Definitely a looker...
